The third and final stage of the first regional Chemistry Olympiad for high school students has concluded in Kirov. The pharmaceutical company "AVVA RUS" initiated this Olympiad with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Kirov Region and Vyatka State University.

317 school students registered for the first round of the Olympiad, which took place in December last year.

The second round was experimental. The top 10 participants were invited to the laboratory of Vyatka State University to demonstrate their practical chemistry skills.

The tasks were challenging, and all participants performed admirably, but only the top three advanced to the final. It was they who had to compete for the main prize – 100 thousand rubles. The crucial third round was scheduled for the last day of March. It was held in the format of an intellectual TV quiz, so victory required not only knowledge but also speed. The quiz consisted of five blocks of questions: "History of Chemistry," "Pharmacology," "Chemistry Heals," "Chemical Records," and a "Video Question," each containing five tasks. Video questions were posed by VyatSU Rector Valentin Pugach, Kirov Region Minister of Education Olga Ryseva, Director of the Kirov Branch of JSC "AVVA RUS" Olga Gordiyenko, and others.

"We hope that holding such events will become a good tradition and serve as an incentive for participation, both for the school students themselves and for educational institutions," stated Alexey Egorov, General Director of "AVVA RUS". "Judging by the results, the level of teaching a complex and interesting subject like chemistry in Kirov and the region is at a commendable level."

"Our company took the organization of the Olympiad very seriously," says Olga Gordiyenko, Director of the Kirov Branch of JSC "AVVA RUS". "We fully prepared the questions for the final quiz show and supervised the experimental round. This was our first experience of this kind, and I must say, we did a commendable job."

"The company 'AVVA RUS' will not stop here; we will continue to implement socially important programs for the region," concluded Irina Andrianova, HR Director of JSC "AVVA RUS".

A unique aspect of this Olympiad is that not only a student was the winner. The school where Elizaveta Noskova studies will receive targeted funding—a certificate for 300 thousand rubles to equip a chemistry classroom.

The winner of the Olympiad herself admits that she will spend the 100 thousand rubles on her education. Lisa dreams of entering the Faculty of Fundamental Medicine or Biopharmaceuticals at Moscow State University (MSU). She paid special attention to the history of chemistry. During the Olympiad, she most often chose questions from the "Pharmacology" and "Chemical Records" blocks.

Olympiad Finalists:

1st Place: Elizaveta Noskova, 10th-grade student of KOGOAU LEN No. 9 (Kirov). Prize: 100 thousand rubles and a 300 thousand ruble certificate for her school to equip a chemistry classroom.

2nd Place: Irina Kolupaeva, 11th-grade student of Linguistic Gymnasium No. 9 (Kirov). Prize: 50 thousand rubles.

3rd Place: Marina Vshivtseva, 10th-grade student of MKOU "A. Nekrasov Education Center" (Kirovo-Chepetsk). Prize: 25 thousand rubles.

The third round, in the TV Quiz format, will air on the TNT43 channel on April 8 at 8:00 AM.

The date and venue for the award ceremony for the Olympiad winners will be announced separately.

The company "AVVA RUS" expresses its deep gratitude to the Government of the Kirov Region and Vyatka State University for their support and assistance in organizing the Chemistry Olympiad.
