The new head of SUE Volgofarm

Viktor Sheiko, a former FSB officer, has been appointed head of the Volgofarm State Unitary Enterprise. The previous head, Natalia Bozhko, left the company due to retirement.

Viktor Sheiko was born in Belarus. He graduated from the Leningrad Red October Higher Artillery Command School and received the qualification of an officer with higher military-special education - "engineer for the operation of radio technical means." From 1982 to 1998, he served in the FSB (Federal Security Service). From 1999 to 2015, he worked at various enterprises in different positions: head of the marketing department of the Volgograd branch of the S.N. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery MNTK (2001-2002), deputy director for administrative and legal issues of JSC Volgograd Tractor Plant (2002), director of the security and protection service at LLC Volgograd Metallurgical Plant (2007).

Since April 2015, he has been the head of the activity support sector, head of the contract performance results compliance analysis department at the State Public Institution of the Volgograd Region "Procurement Organization Center."

Previously, the Governor of the Volgograd Region, Andrey Bocharov, expressed complaints to the management of the Volgofarm State Unitary Enterprise regarding high prices for certain drug groups. It turned out that in state pharmacies, whose main function is social support rather than commerce, the cost of some medicines was several times higher than in private outlets.

In June 2016, four Volgograd pharmacies were found to have inflated the prices of vital drugs (VEDs). According to the results of an inspection organized by the Regional Health Committee and the Tariff Regulation Committee, two of them are part of the Volgofarm State Unitary Enterprise and Volgofarm-Volgograd, while the other two are private.

The Volgofarm State Unitary Enterprise ranked 26th in the Vademecum "TOP200 Pharmacy Chains for the First Half of 2016" rating with a revenue of almost 2.2 billion rubles. At the end of the first half of the year, the network united 120 pharmacies in the Volgograd Region.
