Pharmacy chain "April" enters the Saratov region

The Krasnodar-based pharmacy chain "April" is preparing to expand into the Saratov Region. This will be the company's first entry into the Volga Federal District. Currently, the company is only present in the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts.

At the end of November, the owner of the "April" chain, Vadim Anisimov, registered a new company – LLC "April Saratov". Anisimov confirmed to Vademecum that the chain is entering this new region through this company but declined to provide any additional comments.

The Saratov Region is a highly competitive market for pharmacy chains. Strong positions in the region are held by the Samara-based chains "Imploziya" and "Vita," as well as the united network "Doctor Stoletov & Ozerki."

The "April" pharmacy chain ranked 17th in the Vademecum "TOP200 Pharmacy Chains for the First Half of 2016" rating with a revenue of almost 4.5 billion rubles. At the end of the first half of the year, the network comprised 462 pharmacies across five regions of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts: 362 outlets in the Krasnodar Territory, 56 in the Stavropol Territory, 17 in the Republic of Crimea (part of the Southern Federal District since July 2016), 14 in the Rostov Region, and 13 in Adygea.
