Representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Energy KO visited the AVVA RUS plant

On the instructions of the Acting Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government, Maxim Kochetkov, representatives of the regional Ministry of Industry and Energy visited the Kirov branch of JSC "AVVA RUS" on February 20. As a reminder, this is a Russian pharmaceutical company that has been producing its own developed medicines since 1996.

During the visit, the director of the Kirov branch, Olga Gordienko, reported that preparations are currently underway to launch production of a medication (a broad-spectrum antibiotic) from the list of vital and essential drugs. In December 2016, the Industrial Development Fund provided the enterprise with a loan of 50 million rubles to purchase the necessary equipment.

Olga Gordienko added that the Russian company plans to implement two import substitution projects at the Kirov site, aimed at producing pharmaceutical substances intended for the manufacture of medicines.

"The production of active pharmaceutical substances based on materials of animal origin is unique for Russian pharmaceuticals. These substances are not yet produced in Russia. The implementation of these projects will not only reduce the prices of medicines but will also ensure the introduction of new innovative domestically produced drugs to the Russian market," emphasized Olga Gordienko.

Following the working visit, the parties agreed on further joint work to ensure the stable development of the enterprise and, consequently, the region's economy.

It is worth recalling that the Acting Governor of the Kirov Region, Igor Vasiliev, has repeatedly emphasized that the development of biopharmaceuticals should become one of the breakthrough directions for our region's industry in the near future.
