A concert, park cleanup, refreshments, and the installation of benches with commemorative plaques – this is what awaited guests of Victory Park on the eve of May 9th. In the Year of Ecology in Russia, the Administration of the Oktyabrsky District, with the support of the pharmaceutical company JSC "AVVA RUS", launched a series of events aimed at raising the level of environmental culture among citizens and improving their hometown.

"2017 has been declared the Year of Ecology in Russia, and we, as a socially oriented company, want to make our city even better and more beautiful so that residents can not only work comfortably but also enjoy their leisure time here. We are very glad that there are so many caring people in our team who are willing to spend their time improving their native Kirov. Especially on the eve of the Great Victory Day! We honor the memory of the heroes of those years and remember the immortal feat of those who fought on the battlefields and forged victory on the home front. We are proud of our veterans, and by organizing the 'We Are Proud and Remember!' campaign, we wanted young Kirov residents to also remember the deeds of their ancestors. As part of the campaign, we installed two benches on the Alley of Glory with commemorative plaques dedicated to the feats of our ancestors. We also call on the city's enterprises to join the campaign and install benches with commemorative plaques describing the heroic deeds of our people. To preserve the memory of the Great Victory!" emphasized Olga Sergeevna Gordienko, Director of the Kirov Branch of JSC "AVVA RUS".

On May 5, 2017, a small concert dedicated to Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War was held in Victory Park, located in the Oktyabrsky District of Kirov. Guests of the park were congratulated by children's creative groups from Kirov, as well as representatives of the Administration of the Oktyabrsky District. At the beginning of the concert, residents were in for a pleasant surprise. The pharmaceutical company JSC "AVVA RUS" spoke about the "We Are Proud and Remember!" campaign, within which benches with commemorative plaques dedicated to the contribution of Kirov residents to the victory over Nazi Germany were installed in the park. The benches appeared on the Alley of Glory even before the concert, during the park cleanup that preceded the holiday and in which everyone could participate. More than fifty employees of JSC "AVVA RUS" and workers of the Administration of the Oktyabrsky District also came to pay tribute to the tradition of subbotniks (community workdays), which has been preserved since Soviet times.

"During the war, Kirov was a forge of weapons and ammunition. Kirov's enterprises produced thousands of tanks, millions of shells, and units of weaponry. The hands of Kirov workers on the home front built ships, aircraft, and other equipment. This is something to be proud of! And the Administration of the Oktyabrsky District, together with the pharmaceutical company JSC 'AVVA RUS', wants to remind Kirov residents of our rich history," said Mikhail Alexandrovich Dolgopolov, Acting Head of the Territorial Administration of the Oktyabrsky District.

"We are very glad that our colleagues from JSC 'AVVA RUS' decided to help clean up the park. It's good that there are caring companies in our city that are ready not only to provide financial help but also to be involved in the process, giving residents a clean park, a good mood, and a holiday," said Alexey Ivanovich Nichunaev, Head of the Improvement Department of the Oktyabrsky District.

Incidentally, residents who came that day and helped transform the park after winter were in for other pleasant surprises. With the participation of JSC "AVVA RUS", volunteers treated participants of the subbotnik to green apples.
